1) tell the story of one time you had an 'accident'. Be clear enough that someone else could ready it and determine that it was an 'accident'. You must do THREE different stories.

SEPTEMBER 9TH - "Young Workers"
Create a one-page fact sheet titled “Facts About Young Workers”. Your task is to research and present, in an interesting and visually-appealing fashion, 10 ‘did you know’ type facts about young workers IN CANADA. There should be very little white space, and you might want to Google “did you know” or something in google images to get an idea of what you might want to make yours look like. Be creative - play with fonts and colors!
NO HAND WRITTEN OR DRAWN assignments will be accepted. Use a computer, tablet, etc…

-Biological
-Chemical
-Ergonomic
-Psycho-Social
The pamphlet should include:
-A cover page
-One page each for:
-A definition of the category
-Examples of each (5 minimum)
-Ways to prevent injury from the hazard
-Pictures
-One page with some tips for what to do if you come in contact with hazards (ie who and how to contact emergency personel)

For this assignment you will might want to refer to http://cupe.ca/rsi/repetitive-strain-injuries. Do not limit your research to this!
You will be creating an information slide show that tells about ONE of the RSIs on listed on the site (or another RSI that you are interested in)
For the RSI you choose:
- Give a definition of the injury
- List possible causes
- Tell about jobs/activities that are common sources of the causes
- Tell about how to manage or repair the injury
- Tell about how to avoid it in the first place
- Show pictures of the anatomy of the injury
- Show pictures of other things related to the injury that will make the leaflet more interesting

Create a public service advertisement that addresses the issue that young people are more likely to be hurt at work than old workers.

Page 113 of “Law in Action” textbook talks about human rights and discrimination. It lists the categories which are protected, by law, in Canada from discrimination. They may also want to got to http://www.hrsb.ns.ca/files/Downloads/pdf/diversity/respectful-workplaces-handbook.pdf
Students will prepare a pamphlet (advise them to use MS Publisher) that would be used to educate people on the following:
- the categories we are protected under
- definition and examples of harassment
- Employee rights and responsibilities in a workplace
- The steps for filing a complaint
